IFOCC
is an international, non-profit association established
after the first successful conference in Eilat, Israel in 1992.
Three additional, successful International Conferences took
place in:

The idea for this organization was conceived and initiated by the
Union of Local Authorities in Israel. |

AIMS AND ACTIVITIES

AIMS: |
|

To assist the development of coastal cities and regions to become more attractive to
international and domestic tourists.
-
To improve the quality of life of the residents in these cities and regions.
-
To expand the recreational and cultural facilities to
develop sustainable tourism and employment opportunities in coastal areas.

IFOCCs
ACTIVITIES are: |

Periodic organization of international conferences and exhibitions, seminars, workshops
and training.

Establishment and maintenance of a permanent office for the collection, study and
distribution of information in the fields of tourism and the environment.

Developing partnerships with national, municipal, government and non-governmental as
well as voluntary organizations, including the private sector (commercial).
-
Promoting the exchange of information, conducting case studies and relevant research.

Developing programs and projects to further develop a healthy environment and tourism
for presentation to international partners to promote sponsorship and funds.
Cooperation with international organizations including the World Tourism Organization
(WTO), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the World Travel and Tourism
Council (WTTC) as well as governmental and non-governmental agencies.

Membership in IFOCC
|
There are 2 categories of membership:
Full and Associate Membership
Full Members:
Coastal local authorities including those on lakes and rivers, national/regional
associations of coastal local authorities and national/regional government
agencies
Associate Members:
Universities, organizations, students and
individuals
The Council
The Council takes decisions on elections, constitution changes, approval of
financial activities and reports. Only full members of IFOCC are eligible to join
the Council. |
The Executive Committee
The Executive Committee takes decisions on the
activities of IFOCC, its priorities and projects, giving guidance to the International
Secretariat in preparation for matters relating to the Council. Members of the Executive
Committee shall comprise of a President, 1st Vice-President, 5 Vice-Presidents,
9 Full Members and 3 Associate Members, as approved by the Council.
The International Secretariat is responsible for the implementation of the
resolutions and the work programmes of the Council and the Executive Committee. |
