IFDMYE
was established in 1992 during its first international conference in Israel as an international non-profit association working to improve School and Youth exchanges.

IFDMYE was originally conceived and initiated by the Union of Local Authorities in Israel.

“YOUTH AGAINST RACISM, ANTISEMITISM AND XENOPHOBIA”

EILAT - ISRAEL     March 8 - 10, 2005

 

 

AIMS AND ACTIVITIES

We aim:

  1. To increase the effectiveness of local authorities in developing and promoting youth and school exchange

  2. To establish new partnerships and expand the scope of relationships of those responsible worldwide in the field of youth and school exchange 

  3. To bring together partners to develop models for bridging hostility to friendship

 

 

 

  1. To reduce xenophobia amongst young people through youth and school exchanges
  2. To develop procedures to reduce costs in youth exchange

 

IFDMYE

  • coordinates international conferences, exhibitions, seminars, workshops and training course on a wide variety of topics 

  • has established a permanent and central office for collection, coordination and distribution of data and material for research in the field of youth and school exchange

  • cooperates with national and international agencies dealing in youth and school exchange, as well as governmental and non- governmental offices, research and academic institutes

 

 

 

 

  • fosters and supports international relations between local authorities to encourage programmes for youth exchange and coordinate the provision of high-quality educational programmes at lower costs.

BECOMING A MEMBER IN IFDMYE

 

WHY?

IFDMYE membership helps to strengthen cooperation and ties across the globe. Members benefit from each other’s experiences and share knowledge and expertise.

There are two categories of membership - 
Full and Associate Members

Full Members may be any one of the following:

  • National/Regional Associations of Local Authorities
  • Individual Local Authorities
  • National/Regional Government Agencies

Associate Members may be any one of the following:

  • Associations
  • Authorities
  • Institutions
  • Organisations
  • Individuals involved in related work
 

The Council
The Council takes decisions on elections, constitution changes, approval of financial activities and reports.
Only Full Members of IFMDYE are eligible to join the Council.

The Executive Committee
The Executive Committee takes decisions on the activities of IFDMYE, its priorities and projects giving guidance to the International Secretariat in matters relating to the Council.Members of the Executive Committee shall comprise of a President, Vice-Presidents,  9 Full Members and 3 Associate Members.

The International Secretariat is responsible for the implementation of the resolutions and the work programmes of the Council and the Executive Committee.
