The
International Relations of Local Authorities have undergone numerous
changes through the course of the last three decades.
A
new term "GLOCAL" composed of the words GLOBAL-LOCAL expresses
the enormous global changes in perception of government and public
administration and the dialogue between public and government empowering
and widening the influence of the local community.
Globalization,
while weakening the national government work is increasing the power and
influence of the local government.

The delegated power and authority to local government obliged ULAI to consider a wider range of international aspects and angles, which nowadays are recognized by powerful international organizations as UN, the World Bank and the European Union, which support and sponsor projects of local authorities valuating their importance and power.
ULAI is globally well known as the organization working constantly to enhance peace, dialogue and understanding between Israeli and Palestinian Local Authorities. The well established and constant dialogue formation between ULAI and the Association of Palestinian Local Authorities (APLA) encourage the EU, European Council, World Health Organization (WHO), Local Authorities and Peace Organizations, to support and promote projects for the development of trust, understanding and capacity building.
The Division of International Relations and Projects, headed by the Deputy Director General, is constantly working to promote in a very professional skilled working plan the new challenges provided by these global changes.
We trust that the information supplied will help to expand your knowledge about the potential of this domain.
I convey my special appreciation to all elected workers in local authorities, who support our long and difficult mission to achieve the future goals of the international relations.
